  1. Principal Report 

  1. EQAO 

  • Flexible dates between May until June 4 

  • No writing on June 1 for Ontario Day 

  • Added snacks with funds from Niagara Nutrition Partners 

  1. Arts Night 

  • Feedback 98% positive, minimal complaints about having it right after school. Next year will potentially begin an hour after dismissal 

  1. End of Year Trips  

  • must be on school cash online. No longer able to accept same day payments or permissions.  

  • Secretaries have been following up with families who have not signed up as reminders.  

  1. Grade 8 Day 

  • Wednesday June 24 

  • Morning: Outdoor games (spike ball, cornhole, basketball. Bump, bocce, ladder ball), brought in by staff and council 

  • Catered Lunch (gluten free burgers, hotdogs, buns, condiments, fries, salad, and hallal options. 12pm $1084.80, approved to be paid for by school council First: Victoria, Second: Stu. 

  • DJ 1:30-2:45 - Paid for by the school 

  1. New Business 

  1. Kindergarten Open House 

  • May 4, 4-6pm 

  • School Council to attend: Katie can go, Victoria and Stu may be able to come. 

  • School will provide bags and snacks 

  • Katie to reach out to Sue about School Council Handouts from previous year 

  1. Track and Field  

  • May 8 

  • Rain Date, May 9 

  • Students must be participating to go 

  1. Possible Events for Next Year 

  1. Beginning of the year Family Event  

  • coffee, tea and donuts 

  1. Open House 

  • Tentative date: Thursday September 24 

  • Food Truck Fundraiser? Dave will send Katie info on how Smithville runs theirs. Katie to reach out to vendors over the summer.  

  • The council can survey what events families are interested in, would they like to join council or what barriers prevent them from joining council.  

  • Book Fair to run during the Open House.  

  1. Holiday Event in December 

  • possibly a family event rather than a concert, Jen will reach out to Mr. Woelk for his feedback. 

  1. Spring Arts Night  

  • keep as is if Mr. Woelk is good with that 

  1. PIC Money 

  • $500  

  • Jen to look into what we can spend it on and email the council.
