  1. Financial Report
  • $2,829.21 (transferred from last year)
  • Playground Repair Fund: $917.68-$728.40 (new swing and installation) =$189.28

Motion to transfer $2500-189.28 . 1st mel, 2nd stu, motion passed.

  1. Admin Report
  • Extra Curricular Activities: Beam team doing a lot, interm. Volleyball, dungeons and dragons club (kids loving it), choir starting again this year. Getting ready for Remembrance Day.
  • EQAO – gr 3: in 80s. gr 6: 90s percentile (math 55.8%) Plans moving forward. Positive changes: gr. 4/5 teacher came from a math consulting background.
  1. New Business
  • Fundraising Planning – fundraising subcommittee? Motion for sub committee 1st: sarah 2nd Rachel motion passed. Who? Rachel, Natalie, Sarah.

Donuts: gym booked for set up and event. Discussed changing date b/c of Xmas busyness. Closer to Mother’s day/Father’s day. 1st. sarah 2nd mel . motion passed. Revisit January’s meeting and if haven’t used PIC $ by then we can use.

XMAS shoppe: discuss at end of year for next year. End of year bbq discuss next year. Or Art show food trucks – get %age of profits?

Equipment purchase for classrooms: 15 x soccerballs, basketballs, sponge footballs: approx.. $750. New motion to cover up to $750 out of playground fund: 1st Rachel, 2nd mel motion passed.

Fundraising options discussed:

  • Mabel’s Labels: very easy to run. Ships directly. Not thru school cash, thru their website. Vs.
  • Fundscript (giftcards): better for a goal based fundraiser to incentivise parents to buy cards.

Motion to use Mabel’s Labels to fundraise for recess equipment. 1st Rachel 2nd stu. Motion passed. Rachel will connect with Jen to start up the fundraiser. Once all set up, Jen will put in to parent communication and every 90 days or so.

  • Kindergarten area needs some work. Discussed taking fence out at front to open up space for parents. Outdoor classroom discussed for all grades use.
  • Box of cards make good money. Run end of January. Thru school cash. Better to not send a box home with the kids. Use for outdoor classroom
  • Krispy Crème – have to pick up in Hamilton (Rymal). $9/box. We decide the price. Start now. $16.50 at the store. No taxes.  Vs. chocolate bars?? Choc. Bars lot of work. Motion to do Krispy Crème fundraiser $15/box. And use $$ for outdoor classroom. 1st  Stu 2nd Sarah. Sarah to call and inquire when we can get started, delivery Dec. 11th possibly. Pizza party for class who sells the most.
  • Go ahead with snack days (cookies and popcorn). All agreed.
